Hi my lovelies,?
Welcome back for another dose of beauty and fashion! Today I’ll tell you about my recent purchase of a curling wand, aka curler. I was always more of a straight hair kind of girl but I wanted to try a different style so I purchased a curler.
I went on Amazon and started looking around, there were a ton of options, so how do you decide? Well, I knew I didn’t want to buy a very expensive one since I wasn’t sure whether or not I will even like having my hair curled, and at the end I ended up buying one for $46.99 (on their website, which is linked below is $55.00, therefore its better to buy it on Amazon). Based on my research I felt like this is somewhere in the middle. Not too expensive but not the cheapest one either + it had really good Amazon reviews!
So, I got the xtava 5 in 1 Professional curling set. It comes with 5 attachments to achieve different curl sizes, and a glove to protect your hand from getting burned. I personally don’t use it, however if you are just getting started with heat applications on your hair it can be quite useful.
It came it this beautiful box and it also includes a travel pouch which I think is super useful and it is also big enough to put in my strengthener so I am all set for when I travel.
Here are the attachments. I’ll show them from the smallest to the biggest.
The smallest barrel is 0.3 – 0.75 inch (o.7- 1.9 cm) and it doesn’t have a clip nor a stand.
The second and the third are actually the same size, except that one comes with the stand and a clip and one doesn’t; the measure 0.7 – 1 inch (1.9 – 2.5 cm).
I think that the clip and the stand are very practical because it easier to set it down when you need to grab a new batch of hair and with the clip it also holds your hair on the barrel. This one also measures 0.7 – 1 inch (1.9 – 2.5 cm).
The fourth barrel is 1 inch (2.5 cm) in diameter.
The last, fifth barrel is 1.25 (3 cm) inches in diameter and so far this one is my favorite. It gives you those really big curls and I really liked it.
I told you about the barrels, now lets focus on the wand itself. In my opinion it fits well in your hand, the cord coming out of it spins, and I believe that is really practical. It heats up from 250°F to 410°F (120°C – 210°C). The other very good feature is the automatic shut off; after 60 min it will turn itself off so even if you are uncertain whether or not you unplugged it, you’ll be fine and it won’t burn down your house :).
Lastly, the travel bag. I find it cute and practical. It fits it all in, it looks good, what more could you ask for? 🙂
In all honesty, I haven’t used it a lot but so far I like it. Maybe in a little while I could do an update to see if I am still in love with it and how it performs. Maybe I could even do a curl comparison with different barrels. We’ll see.
Thank you so much for stopping by, I really appreciate it!
